Tarantula Solitaire

Tarantula Solitaire

Tarantula Solitaire is an easier variant of Spider Solitaire.

It's easier in a relative sense given that Spider (with four suits) is a very difficult game to win. Easier as in it's easier to catch a tarantula than a black widow type of easier.

And how is it easier? Tarantula is easier (or maybe better put less difficult) as cards of the same colour may be dragged. This is in contrast to Spider where only cards of the same suit are draggable.

Tarantula Solitaire is, in my non-expert opinion, fiendishly difficult.

It is another one of the games that I haven't ever been able to win. I've come close but no cigar.

Tarantula. Rules in brief

Goal

The game is won when all cards have been placed on the Foundations.

Packs

Two packs of cards are required.

Foundations

There are 8 foundation piles.

Cards only be moved to the Foundations when built in a complete sequence (i.e. all cards from King to Ace).

Cards can not be removed from the Foundation piles once placed.

Tableau

Groups of cards in sequence descending may be moved from column to column on the Tableau if the cards are of the same colour.

A card can be added to the Tableau when it is one less than the card it is placed upon. The card may be of any suit.

The Ace is the lowest card, so the sequence is K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, A.

An empty position on the Tableau may be filled with any card.
